Four years ago, our son Cole was diagnosed with Wilms' tumor, a rare form of childhood cancer that affects the kidneys. He was 7 and had no noticeable signs or symptoms of cancer. However, at the time it was detected, his cancer had escalated to Stage IV.
We immediately sought treatment at the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Unit. Cole was treated by an amazing team of doctors and nurses. With the expert medical attention he was given at Johns Hopkins and the emotional comfort he received from his family, he was able to bravely fight his disease.
